We are in AWE of our amazing, beautiful and capable students! Today, 13 students from University High School of Science and Engineering and Hartford Public High School testified before the state Education Committee in favor of HB 5212 and HB 5213, advocating for more resources and funding. They were brave, confident, and inspiring as they represented their schools and the entire HPS community.

Bank of America is looking for tomorrow’s neighborhood leaders today!
This program recognizes outstanding young people who lead and serve in their school, community and beyond. Bank of America will connect selected Student Leaders to tools and resources that will help them make communities better.
If selected, Bank of America Student Leaders will:
· Participate in an eight-week, paid, hands-on, experiential summer internship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, a nonprofit organization. Home | Boys & Girls Club of Hartford (bgchartford.org) (June – August 2024)
· Attend a week-long, all-expenses-paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. (July 2024)
· Develop valuable civic, social, and business leadership skills.

This Thanksgiving Day classic football competition between the Hartford Public High School Owls and the Weaver High School Beavers kicks off at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 23 at Weaver High School, 415 Granby Street in Hartford. Join a club! Get extra help! Every morning during Activity Block students have the opportunity to get involved in school through clubs and interests, see their teachers for extra help or socialize with their friends. You can find the dates and rooms of clubs in the main office and on each floor of the school. Check parent square for a link to the schedule.

Are you ready for high school?! UHSSE will be holding a First Look on Monday, August 21st from 7:30am-11:30am. All 9th grade students are invited. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Learn/use your ID for free breakfast and lunch daily during the school year, meet the students in your advisory that will be with you for the next four years, meet some of our amazing staff members, tour the school, get your schedule and learn about our M/W/F and T/R schedule, access your locker and have fun!
